Easters

We returned from our trip in the wee hours of Easter morning. We went to church and then had a very relaxing day. No dying eggs this year. No egg hunts, either. We did eat some chocolate bunnies, though. It is nice to sometimes take it easy.

A tradition throughout Germany is to decorate the local village well at Easter time. It is a kind of competition to see which village can have the best decorated well.  Some of them get very elaborate and are quite large. My favorite one was in the village of Winkelhaid. It was small enough you could encompass it with a bear hug.  The eggs are the best part. Each one is colored in a tie-dye like pattern. Imagine blowing out all those eggs!  Yikes.
