Last weekend we did something very dangerous. We took the boys to not one, but several porcelain factories. In fact, we were joined by our friends, who have 4 children of their own. And guess what? The only damage we did was to Andy’s wallet.
The Porzellan Strasse stretches around northern Bavaria. The last time we lived here, I went where “the streets are paved with White Gold” many times and acquired some really nice things at great prices. We tried to find a lot of the same places when we went last weekend. We were partly successful, but I was mostly disappointed. The places where I had made great deals before, were no longer to be found. Some were closed, most were changed, and all were more expensive. I blame it on The Fed.
We also stopped by the Veste in Coburg. It is the fortress where Martin Luther hid out for some time while he worked on translating the Bible. It was a cold and foggy day, but nice to be out and about. There is no waiting around for nice weather here in Germany. If you do, you’ll hardly do anything!
