We had a wonderful white Christmas here in Bavaria. It will be our last for the foreseeable future. In case you aren’t in the know, we are moving this summer to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Sigh. (And I’m not the only one not excited to move)

There was record snowfall for the month of December, including about 20 hours of snow on Christmas day.  Most of the snow has since been rained on and has melted and is causing flooding in the lowlands around town.

We had a gingerbread house party, and invited some friends over from church.  It’s always an adventure free-handing gingerbread house design. It’s really quite fun.  The houses all turned out great, and the kids ate a lot of candy and had a good time.

We attended our last Christmas Market in Rothenburg on Christmas Eve, and stayed home and relaxed (between shoveling) on Christmas Day. The boys got some great gifts from family and friends.  (Thanks!) We’re grateful to have had the chance to spend the season in the land of Christmas.  I hope the boys can remember and appreciate how nice it is here still at this time of year.  I’m sure it’s not as quaint in Kansas.
